The parishioners of The Church of the Good Shepherd, Rosemont, and all friends
of the Gospel, are asked to join together for a special service of prayer on Sunday
evening, October 19th, from 7:30 to 9 pm.
The purpose of this occasion is to pray with fellow believers about our Rector’s
Civil (jury) Trial, which begins the next day, Monday, October 20, 2008, in the
Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas.
In the larger sense, the purpose is also to pray for God’s guidance and direction for
us as a parish, and to ask God’s grace and empowerment on our efforts to bring the
Gospel of Jesus Christ to a hurting world.
Also, during the morning hours of the days of the trial, there will be a “Watch” be-
fore the Blessed Sacrament in the “Lady Chapel” from the end of morning prayer
(9am) until the 12:05 pm weekday Mass. There will be a sign-up sheet, just as
there is during the “Watch” on Maundy Thursday, so the Lord is continually visited
in His Sacrament during this crucial time.
Please join us in seeking God’s will in this time of trial.
“Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal which comes upon you to
prove you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice in
so far as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad
when His glory is revealed” (1 Peter: 4:12-13).
Please come!
