The Rt. Rev. Dr. David Moyer, SSC, Rector
The Right Reverend Dr. David Lloyd Moyer was called to Good Shepherd as Rector in 1989. This is his third rectorship after serving parishes in the Dioceses of New York, Albany, and Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador. Ordained to the Diaconate and Priesthood in 1976, he was consecrated as Bishop on February 16, 2005 at Good Shepherd. He now serves as Bishop of the Armed Forces for the Anglican Church in America of the Traditional Anglican Communion (TAC) and as Assistant Bishop of the Diocese of the Murray in the Anglican Church of Australia, a Province of the Anglican Communion. He also serves as the Episcopal Visitor for the TAC in England and as the American Commissary for Bishop Ross Davies of The Murray. The Bishop holds degrees from Whittier College, and Seabury-Western, New York, and Princeton Theological Seminaries. Bishop Moyer has been married for thirty-five years to the former Rita Hawkins, and they are the parents of three grown children, and have two grandchildren. The Bishop’s outside interests are reading theology, playing the drums, and auto racing.
The Rev. Aaron R. Bayles, M.T.S., Curate
The Rev. Aaron R. Bayles began his tenure as curate of the Church of the Good Shepherd in July of 2009. He was ordained deacon in 2005 and priest in 2006. Fr. Bayles is a native of Ohio and prior to coming to Good Shepherd he served as deacon and curate at St. James Church in Cleveland, Ohio. He holds degrees from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio and Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio, he also has done course work at Bexley Hall Seminary and the Pontifical College Josephinum. Since 2007, Fr. Bayles has served as a chaplain to the 180th Fighter Wing of the Ohio Air National Guard and currently holds the rank of Captain. When he is not at the church or on a military installation, Fr. Bayles can be found officiating volleyball and basketball or watching his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns.
